Dear Sam Farr,
My name is Helen Hoang and I am from Piedmont Middle School, in San Jose ,CA. Imagine if you are a wolf. You are running as quick as you can. Then you happen to glance up. You see people laughing and talking, carrying guns. They were sitting on a tiny airplane chasing you. Then you get tired, very tired, until you can not go any further. BAM! A piercing sound rang out. You feel the sharp pain, and then you fall down.A puddle of red surrounds you. You feel your life draining away. You hear a distant chuckle and then you slowly, painfully die. Many wolves in Alaska are suffering this same fate. Sam Farr, you need to save these precious animals (Not only wolves, but also every other kinds of animals are being endangered by airplane hunting). My reasons for saving these animals are (1) everyone (everything) has the right to live , (2) the animals may become extinct and (3) it is not fair to the animals that humans have airplanes to chase them.
First, the reason why you should protect these animals from aerial hunting is because everyone/everything has the right to live. One of our country’s ideals is the right to live. Every life is important. Humans and animals all share Earth. If we have the right to live, so do animals. Unless we have to hunt for survival needs (native Americans) , killing an innocent animal is a terrible thing to do. The animals never did anything to us!
Second, another reason why you should protect these animals from aerial hunting is because the animals may become extinct. If we all have a chance to see Alaska’s natural beauties, it’s only fair if future generations also have a chance. Studies show that the population of wolves are decreasing at a extreme pace. If it continues at this rate, Alaska’s wild animals will be wiped out before you know it. So please Sam Farr, support the "Preserve Alaskan wild animals" team. Help us protect the animals so that we together can save the animals from the terrible fate of disappearing forever from the surface of the Earth.
Thirdly,my last reason on why you should protect animals from aerial hunting is because it is not fair thar humans have airplanes to chase them. Animals are living things, and living things get tired quickly.Airplanes do not have to take a rest (unless it ran out of gas). This is unfair to the law of nature. Airplanes can go faster than the animal. People who are on that plane have an advantage because the animal itself can not protect itself, while the person can just easily kill the animal in a split second.
However, some people believe that we should "shoot ‘em down". They believe that there are too much (population), and we should kill them to make warm pretty fur coats. Well, that is wrong. It is not true that the population of wolves are high. In fact, the population is so low that they will have a high chance of dying out forever. Some people say they love fur coats. They’re warm, and soft. I think that may be true but think of it this way. Those people are wearing the skin of a dead animal. Think if you would like it if someone were to kill you for your skin, and wears the skin around. If they want a soft, warm coat, why don’t they just buy a softer, warmer jacket? Some people also kill wolves to chop off their left front legs so receive $150.That may seem alot, but it is nothing compared to the beauty of an animal running free, their spirits soaring. Is $150 worth taking an animal's precious life? For these reasons, you need to support the saving of lives of these animals from the arctic.
In Conclusion, wild animals from the Arctic should be protected because everyone's/everything's life is important, the innocent animals will become extinct, and it is not fair to the animals that humans have airplanes. Please help give the animals some peace, so they can enjoy their life on this Earth like we do. Please help establish a law when aerial hunting is illegal.Thank you.
Sincerly,
Helen Hoang
